Announcing Echo’s New Blog
Dear readers,
We hope you have enjoyed exploring our new website, reading our current issue, and rediscovering previous ones. As a part of our site redesign process, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new blog for scholars to engage informally with topics of interest in the form of thought pieces, interviews, concert reviews, and more.
Our inaugural post is a piece from Carol Vernallis, who offers her thoughts and reflections on Joanna Demers’ influential book, Steal This Music: How Intellectual Property Law Affects Musical Creativity (2006). Later in the month, we will have a thought piece from Alexandra Apolloni, who considers Beyoncé’s self-titled album, Beyoncé, using analytical tools drawn from Carol Vernallis’ recent book, Unruly Media: YouTube, Music Video, and the New Digital Cinema (2013).
These pieces are just some of the fascinating posts we have in store for the blog. We welcome submissions from scholars at all stages of their careers. Please visit our submissions page for more information or email us with questions about potential post concepts.
We are very excited for this new stage in the journal’s development and we look forward to hearing from our readers as this project continues.
